This 2002 Mercedes-Benz G500 is a well-preserved and selectively upgraded example of the iconic Geländewagen. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over black leather, it combines old-world build quality with modern off-road capability. Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter M113 V8, this example is equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, and factory locking front, center, and rear differentials. Currently showing just 74,000 miles, it benefits from recent maintenance, upgraded suspension, and a timeless factory specification.
The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (code 744) and retains its original styling elements, including headlight washers, fog lamps, factory badging, and the signature swing-out rear cargo door with a full-size spare. A power sunroof is also equipped. The Carfax report notes minor rear-end damage in 2003; however, the vehicle presents well today with straight panels and consistent panel gaps throughout. Close-up images of the exterior surfaces show glossy, well-maintained paintwork with only light age-appropriate wear.
Riding on factory 16″ Atik alloy wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires fitted in 2024, this G500 has been upgraded with adjustable King Off-Road shocks, improving its ride comfort and capability both on and off pavement. The spare tire is mounted to the rear swing gate, and the underbody displays no evidence of corrosion or off-road abuse.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in black leather with heated, power-adjustable front seats and a heated rear bench. The interior shows only minor signs of wear consistent with the vehicle’s mileage and age. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, and Mercedes-Benz’s COMAND infotainment with factory navigation. The wood- and leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation, including a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,000 rpm redline. A new door lock control module for the passenger side was installed in 2024. The factory CD stereo and dashboard electronics function as intended.
Power is provided by the 5.0-liter M113 V8, rated at 292 horsepower and 336 lb-ft of torque. Known for its reliability and smooth torque delivery, the engine pairs with a five-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels through a full-time 4MATIC system. The factory dual-range transfer case is complemented by driver-selectable front, center, and rear locking differentials—making this one of the most capable off-road production vehicles of its era. A routine oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
This G500 offers a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, mechanically sorted example of the classic W463-generation G-Class, enhanced with premium suspension components and fitted with new tires. It presents in clean cosmetic condition with factory options and tasteful upgrades, ready to serve as a daily driver, overland rig, or collector-grade SUV.
