Description
Frame-Off Restored 1972 Oldsmobile 442 4-Speed
This 1972 Oldsmobile 442 was purchased new by the seller’s father and underwent a comprehensive frame-off restoration completed in the early 1990s. Finished in green over black with a 4-4-2 appearance and handling package, the car is powered by a rebuilt and performance-enhanced 455ci Rocket V8 paired with a Hurst-shifted Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The restoration included full body panel replacement, frame sandblasting and recoating, a complete engine rebuild with the lower end bored to 460ci, interior reupholstery using Year One components, and refinishing of the chrome bumpers. The car retains numerous factory options, including power front disc brakes, power steering, Strato bucket seats, a sport console, tinted glass, and a working 8-track stereo with AM/FM push-button radio. This 442 remains garage-kept and lightly used since the restoration, and it is now offered with known ownership from new and an odometer reading of approximately 48,940 miles (TMU).
