Description
1970 Chevrolet Camaro LS ProTouring – SEMA-Caliber Build with Lingenfelter LS3 Power and Cutting-Edge Components
This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro LS ProTouring is a show-stopping custom that expertly blends vintage muscle car design with cutting-edge modern performance. Professionally built in 2018, this ProTouring Camaro boasts a staggering level of engineering and craftsmanship, making it not just one of the most aggressive second-gen Camaros on the market, but arguably one of the best-sorted restomod builds ever assembled.
At the heart of this build is a Lingenfelter 6.2L LS3 V8, fitted with a Lingenfelter GT11 roller camshaft, CNC-ported LS3 heads, custom billet valve covers, and a Holley Terminator LS EFI system. The intake setup includes a Holley single-plane LS3 intake, 1000CFM throttle body, fuel rails, and HyperFuel EFI tank and pump system. Dyno-tested at 579 horsepower at 6,400 RPM, this engine delivers modern supercar power in a classic shell.
Power is sent through a Bowler 4L75E automatic transmission with a ProTorque LSXT billet multi-clutch converter, mated to a Currie Turn 9 ProTouring rear end and MillerBuilt full floater system. A Wavetrac 35-spline posi unit and Motive 3.25 gears ensure this Camaro puts power down with precision.
The suspension is equally overbuilt, featuring Ridetech’s TruTurn front system, StrongArm control arms, MuscleBar sway bars, and TQ triple-adjustable coilovers all around. Out back, a Ridetech Uni-Cradle 4-link system keeps the car composed under acceleration, while Baer 13″ disc brakes with Track4 front and SS4 rear calipers bring everything to a confident stop.
Rolling on Forgeline ML3C 18×10″ wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Rival-S 275/35R18 tires, this Camaro has the stance and grip to match its performance. An aluminum driveshaft, Hooker stainless exhaust system and mid-length headers, and a custom Hooker transmission crossmember complete the driveline.
Visually, the Camaro is finished in a head-turning Velocity Orange with Fesler flush-mount glass and Anzo LED headlights. Inside, the cabin is a complete custom job by Recovery Room, featuring Hydes leather upholstery, Recaro front seats with Ridetech 4-point harnesses, Vintage Air heat and A/C with Frontrunner system, Classic Instruments AutoX gauges, and a full Kicker sound system including a 10″ CompRT sub and 6×9 speakers.
Further features include power windows, cruise control, power steering, power brakes, Detroit Speed wiper conversion, Baer Remaster master cylinder, relocated Optima battery, and a Frostbite aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.
This Camaro is a no-expense-spared build with just 19,470 miles since completion, created for both high-speed touring and ultimate show presence. It offers the perfect mix of raw American muscle and modern comfort and reliability—a truly turnkey restomod ready for the road, the track, or the concours lawn.
