This 1966 Pontiac GTO is a true muscle car icon, featuring its numbers-matching 389ci V8 with the highly desirable Tri-Power carburetor setup and a 4-speed manual transmission. Verified by PHS documentation, this example is an authentic and rare GTO coupe, as only approximately 10% of all GTOs produced in 1966 were built in this body style.
Finished in stunning black paint over a black bucket-seat interior, this GTO has been expertly restored and remains in excellent condition. The body panels, floors, trunk, quarters, and rockers all show no signs of rust or prior damage, and the car is believed to retain its factory original sheet metal.
Under the hood, the original “WS” code 389 big block is correct, featuring the proper intake and exhaust manifolds and the unique manual carb linkage specific to 4-speed cars. The power is delivered through a smooth-shifting 4-speed transmission and correct 4.10 rear gears, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience.
Inside, the interior is in excellent shape, with working factory gauges and all correct trim pieces. This car also features the rare factory aluminum front drum brake option (Code 651), further adding to its uniqueness.
A true investment-grade muscle car, this PHS-documented 1966 Pontiac GTO is an excellent example of Pontiac’s golden era of performance. A must-see for collectors and enthusiasts, ready to be enjoyed or proudly displayed.
