Description
1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible – 14,298 Original Miles, Numbers-Matching, Highly Optioned Survivor in Monaco Blue
Offered for sale is an extraordinarily well-preserved 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible, a true survivor with only 14,298 original miles from new. This Monaco Blue convertible is equipped with its numbers-matching 283ci V8, mated to a Powerglide automatic transmission, and it has been beautifully maintained in largely original condition. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a collector-grade Super Sport Impala with outstanding documentation and factory finishes.
Originally built in Flint, Michigan and sold new in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this Impala remained in single ownership for over five decades and has had just three owners total. The car retains its original title showing a first registration date of April 25, 1963. Accompanying this Impala are the original manuals, brochures, title documents, and matching engine stampings—further affirming the car’s exceptional provenance.
Finished in Monaco Blue with its original white convertible top and blue Super Sport interior, the car presents with an unmistakable 1960s presence. The paint is estimated at 95% original, showing beautifully with only minor blemishes. Chrome and trim are in excellent condition throughout, including a flawless grille and the swirl-pattern SS accents. The sheet metal is all original, with no patches, no accident history, and no panel replacements. The car was undercoated from new and remains rust-free with an untouched undercarriage.
The original white convertible top is still in place and remains in excellent shape with light fogging on the rear curtain; the original top boot is like new. SS hubcaps are excellent, and the original glass and weatherstripping remain clean, clear, and supple.
Inside, the bucket seats, door panels, and carpeting are all original and impressively well-preserved, showing only minor age-related wear. The center console with floor shifter, dash, gauges, and SS trim all remain vibrant and intact. The original AM radio plays clearly, and all lights, horn, heater fan, and wipers function properly. The clock will need servicing. The iconic fuzzy dice still hang proudly from the mirror, completing the 1960s cruising vibe.
Mechanically, this Impala drives like a low-mileage original should. The 283 V8 runs smooth and quiet, and the Powerglide transmission shifts perfectly. The suspension has been refreshed with new shocks, the gas tank has been replaced, and the car rides on updated radial tires for improved drivability. Brakes and exhaust are in proper working order, making it an excellent candidate for local shows or weekend cruising.
