1951 Citroën Traction Avant 11 BL Cabriolet – Rare Coachbuilt Convertible
Offered for sale is an exceptionally rare 1951 Citroën Traction Avant 11 BL Cabriolet, converted by the renowned Swiss coachbuilder Carrosserie Langenthal. This elegant model, based on the lightweight “BL” version of the Traction Avant, is believed to be one of just around 50 cabriolet conversions produced between 1949 and 1953, with only eight examples of the BL configuration known to exist today. This example is an original 1951 production vehicle, fully restored in 2001–2002 with a frame-off restoration to a very high standard.

The car is powered by its original 1.9-liter inline-four engine, delivering 58 horsepower through a 3-speed manual gearbox. The front-wheel-drive layout, a technological innovation at the time, contributes to its impressive road handling. The factory 6-volt electrical system remains in place and functions reliably. Finished in a classic green exterior with a burgundy leather interior and a grey-lined fabric convertible top, this Traction Avant presents beautifully.
